Marvin Meadows Sorrells

Marvin Meadows Sorrells, 84, husband of JoAnn (Snyder) Sorrells, of Verona, died Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Birch Gardens.

He was born February 6, 1936 in Stuarts Draft, son of the late Mary (Fitzgerald) Sorrells and Herbert Sorrells.

Marvin retired from Hershey Chocolate and Walmart. He enjoyed being outdoors and being with his family.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ellen Dull and Sylvia Sorrells and two brothers, Zirkle Sorrells and Charles Sorrells.

In addition to his wife of 59 years, family members include four children, Chris Sorrells (Judy), Julie Carpenter, Carmen Crummett (David), and Tammy Hanna (Kevin); two brothers, Groover Sorrells and John Sorrells and his partner, Diane; a sister-in-law, Beverley Fitzgerald (Pete); seven grandchildren, Justin Crummett (Whitney), Jeff Painter, Christi Carpenter, Samantha Walker (Matt), Desirea Carpenter, Christian Sorrells, and Dell Ray Jones; one great grandchild, Lynnea Walker; numerous nieces and nephews; a special dog, Daffodil; and special caregiver, Margaret Alphin.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2020 in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by the Rev. Russell Heinrich.

The family would like to thank Matthew Walker and the staff at Birch Gardens along with Shelby Noel with Hospice of the Shenandoah for special care given to our loved one.
