Mary Belle Smith

Mary Belle (Arehart) Smith, widow of Junius Elvin Smith of Staunton, died Thursday, May 20, 2021, at her residence.

She was born March 21, 1922, in Walkers Creek a daughter of the late Homer and Betty (Swisher) Arehart.

She was a member of Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church.

She had many talents which included quilting, crocheting, and gardening, but most importantly she loved her family and spending time with them.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda S. and John J. Morris; and siblings, Cleo, Odell, Ralph, Jake, Connie, and Clyde.

Family members include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Douglas E. Smith and Joseph E. and Christy Smith, all of Staunton; grandchildren, Scott Morris, Tim Morris, Emily Carter, Zachary Smith and Logan Smith; great grandchildren, Dakota, Colby, Caden, Alexis Morris and Alicia Cary; and numerous other family members.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Elizabeth Von Trapp Walker. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
