Matthew Mark Harris

Matthew Mark Harris, 58, of Staunton passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on January 19, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer.

Mark was a graduate of Robert E. Lee and a lifelong Staunton resident. He began working for his father, the late Clyde Harris, at Clyde's Custom Autobody as a teenager. He quickly learned the tricks and tools of the trade, and later became the owner and operator of the business. Mark loved "all things" cars and also enjoyed the personal interactions with lifelong customers.

Mark enjoyed spending time with his family, and was the apple of his grandkids' eye. He loved Harley rides with his brother, brother-in-law, and his "other brothers". He also enjoyed fishing and beach vacations with his family. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Mark is survived by his mother, Ann Harris of Staunton. He was the proud father of Lezley and her husband Ryan and papa to their children Nathan and Ava. He adored his son Matthew and his wife Heather, and their daughter Maddison. He also leaves behind his sister Lani Johns and husband Billy of Waynesboro, his brother and best friend, Loren Harris, and wife Christina of Stuart's Draft. Mark's nephew and nieces include Travis and Lindsay Fitzgerald, Amanda Rodgers and the late Tiffany Scott, and Olivia Harris. He was preceded in death by his wife Kay, his father Clyde, and sister Lisa Snyder.

Mark was a force of nature and could fill a room with his presence. He was also a kind and loving friend to those lucky enough to have the privilege.

Keeping with Mark's wishes, there will be no services. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society or a local animal rescue.
