Maurice Eugene Lane

Maurice Eugene Lane, 81, husband of Mattie W. Lane, of 32 Rolla Mill Road, died Friday, January 15, 2016 at his residence. He was born June 25, 1934, in Welch, West Virginia, a son of the late Hersey and Anna (Copeland) Lane. Prior to retirement, Mr. Lane was employed by the Staunton Post Office with 28 years of service. In addition to his wife of 58 years, family members include two daughters and a son-in-law, Pam Robertson and Cheryl and Brad Jenkins; a son, Michael Lane; two grandchildren, Miranda and Jesse Wolfe; a brother, Randy Lane; a sister, Joyce Lane; and a special grandog, Sammy. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by Chaplain J. Scott Crannell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Augusta Regional SPCA, P.O. Box 2014, Staunton, VA 24402 or the American Cancer Society, 1445 E. Rio Road, Suite 104, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
