Maynard D. Brown

Maynard Dee Brown of Stuarts Draft, Virginia passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022. He was born in Brownsburg, Virginia to the late Tansy and Arlene Brown.

Brown worked for VDOT as an operator and then retired from Allied Concrete after many years of truck driving.

Brown’s son, Michael, fondly remembers many years of his father’s help and support during his baseball and football years. In more recent years, Brown enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, especially supporting his great-great nephews at all their sporting events. He was known by everyone as “Uncle Maynard.” He loved to be outdoors. He made multiple trips to the apple orchard every year to get bushels of his favorite apples to share with his friends. He loved to tell stories of his past and share many laughs with all those around.

Brown is survived by his son, Michael Brown and his wife, Vanessa; his grandchildren, Vadiah, Julian, and Londyn; his siblings, Junior, Dorothy, Janice, Linda, and Loretta; and his great-nephew and close friend, Trey Hemp.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Henry Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
