Millicent Viola (Lykken) LaBerge of 1069 Woodmont Dr. died suddenly Wednesday morning, Aug. 16 while traveling in Charleston, SC. Millicent is survived by her husband of 59 years, Thomas W. LaBerge; seven children: Michael (Penny) LaBerge (Andrew, James, Timothy, Benjamin) of Duluth, MN; Patrice (Steve) Thomas (Gabriel, Patrick) of Bismarck, ND; Tomi Jane (Daniel) McLellan (Peter, William, Leif) of Shoreview, MN; Charles (Carol) LaBerge (John, Christine, Sophie) of Corcoran. MN; Andre (Laura) LaBerge (David, Tegan, Charlie) of Maple Grove; MN, Peter (Laura) LaBerge (Rebekah, Camille) of St. Anthony, MN; and Mia (Terence Ward) LaBerge (Elaina, Liberty) of Harrisonburg, VA; as well as six siblings: Dorothy Bailey Lowe, Vernon Lykken, Lorraine Miller, Eleanor Littlejohn Schnell, Lowell Lykken, and Glenn Lykken. Millicent was born Feb. 1, 1934 in Grafton, ND and graduated from Grafton High School. She married her high school sweet heart Tom after his return from service in the Korean War. Millicent's creative spirit was a gift from God. A home maker, calligrapher, fine artist, seamstress, decorator, chef and gardener, she always looked for ways to give beautiful things to others. Millicent possessed an excellent mind which she developed through reading, Bridge, music and memorization of scripture. Millicent held high standards for quality in everything she did and blessed her children and grandchildren with her strong work ethic, generosity and faith. Millicent's love of the Lord Jesus was well-known and her allegiance to our Savior the hallmark of her life. From her Lutheran roots she became member of Staunton Alliance Church. Her love and strength will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
