Mitchell M. Robertson Jr.

August 13, 1940 - April 16, 2022

STAUNTON – Mitchell McElwee Robertson, Jr., 81, husband of Judith P. Robertson passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at his residence. Mr. Robertson was born on August 13, 1940 in Augusta County to the late Mitchell McElwee, Sr. and Gladys Elizabeth (Rankin) Robertson. He was a member of Staunton Orthodox Presbyterian Church, the Trinity Boys Choir and Staunton Choral Society. Mr. Robertson was a member of O.C.A.W. for 31 years serving five terms as president of Local 3-573 and retired from Columbia Gas with 31 years of service. He was a member of the NRA for 50 years and was past Tribal Pipe Carrier of Appalachian Cherokee Tribe. He also enjoyed hunting and farming. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Terri Robertson-Bollinger and Michelle A. Swortzel (Danny); a sister, Brenda R. Law (Ben); three grandchildren, Ryne M. and Jessica M. Bollinger and Andrew R. Swortzel; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Donald R. Robertson. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm, Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Henry Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 am, Thursday, April 21, 2022 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Ethan Allison. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
