NANCY P. DIEHL FISHERSVILLE, VA Nancy June (Painter) Diehl, 73, wife of Berlin E. "Bickey" Diehl, of 15 Teaberry Place, Fishersville died Friday, January 11, 2013. She was born January 30, 1939, in Augusta County a daughter of the late Austin G. and Elva (Reese) Painter. She was a member of Fishersville United Methodist Church, where she had served as a Sunday school teacher and worked in the church office for many years In addition to her husband of 56 years, family members include: Tina and son-in-law David Savopoulos and only grandchild, Katrina, of Midlothian, Virginia, Beverly "Babs" Diehl of Tampa, Florida, son and daughter-in-law, Mark E. Diehl and Lisa Klein of Staunton, Virginia. She was also survived by two brothers and sister-in-laws; Erskin and Mary Painter of Staunton, Virginia and Neil and Carrie Painter; and a sister, Jean Varner of Lakewood, California. Nancy was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She also loved her flowers, especially orchids and roses, and her cats. However, she most loved her children and grandchild. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013, in the Fishersville United Methodist Church by Pastors Larry Jent and Ryan Oswald. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Billy Beach, Ron Burkholder, James Brooks, Bob Thomas, Hugh Baldwin, and Rod Burke. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the XYZ Group of Fishersville United Methodist Church. There will be no public viewing. The family will receive visitors at the home.
