Nancy K. Gilbert

NANCY K. GILBERT STAUNTON, VA Nancy Katherine (Parker) Gilbert, widow of Joseph Franklin Gilbert, of Staunton, died Tuesday, February 03, 2015, at Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. She was the daughter of the late Lomax and Blanche (Calvert) Parker. Nancy will be remembered for her sense of style and her humor. She was a special and entertaining lady. Surviving family members include a son, Jeffery Parker Gilbert of Manakin-Sabot, VA; a daughter and son-in-law, Jill G. and Scott Powell of Staunton; two grandchildren, Joseph C. Gilbert and his wife Emily of Mechanicsville; J. Skylir Powell of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; three special nieces, Patti Benton, Sarah Smith, and Emily Morrison. A private family graveside service will be conducted at Augusta Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2015, at Henry Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Staunton-Augusta Rescue Squad, 1601 North Coalter Street, Staunton, VA 24401.
