NANCY G. HYDEN STAUNTON, VA Nancy (Gilmer) Hyden, 74, widow of Paul Miller Hyden, of 2511 Chesapeake Street, died Monday, August 27, 2012, at her residence. She was born November 27, 1937, a daughter of the late Charles and Irene (Potter) Gilmer. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Hyden was employed as a cafeteria manager for Staunton City Schools. She was a member of Zetta Presbyterian Church. Family members include a son, Brent Allen Lynn of Staunton; two daughters, Penny Medley of Churchville and Paula Price of Greenville; two brothers, Elwood V. Gilmer of Martinsburg, WV and Frank M. Gilmer of Mt. Sidney; a sister, Lucille V. Armstrong of Bridgewater; five grandchildren, Nancy Elizabeth Medley of Churchville, Abigail Lee Riley of Greenville, Stephanie Renee Lynn of Staunton, Sarah Anne Medley of Churchville, and Brandi Nicole Riley of Greenville; and two great grandchildren, Madison Bishopriggs and Brianna Bishopriggs, both of Staunton. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2012 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Stan Farthing and Pastor Melinda Gartzke. Active pallbearers will be Will Griffin, Randy Harris, Elwood Gilmer, Frank Gilmer, Norman Armstrong, and Ronald Terry. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Zetta Presbyterian Church, Glenna Puffenbarger, and Susan Sams. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 in the funeral home. The family extends their deep appreciation to Dr. Todd Wolfe, Amy Stogdale, and to her many supportive friends and caregivers. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, Greater Blue Ridge Chapter, 3959 Electric Road #222, Roanoke, VA 24018, Hospice of the Shenandoah, P. O.
