Otis Sylvester Strickler

STAUNTON, VA Otis Sylvester Strickler, 81, husband of Judy (Wimer) Strickler, of Staunton, died Saturday, February 21, 2015 at home. He was born on May 23, 1933 in Augusta County, a son of the late Marshall Franklin and Ardina (Buchanan) Strickler. Mr. Strickler was a truck driver and retired from Transit Mix. He loved fishing and hunting but mostly spending time with family. In addition to his wife of nearly 52 years, "Pappy" is survived by his children: Jerry L. Strickler and his wife Carolyn, Mickey Massie and her husband Doug, Mellony Williams and her husband Robert, Otis S. Strickler, Jr. and his wife Debbie; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Henry Strickler and his wife Linda and Tommy Strickler and his wife Marie; a sister, Lynn Switzer and her husband Bill. He was preceded in death by his great granddaughter Savannah Moore and his brother Melvin Strickler. All services will be private. The family would like to send a special thank you to Mr. Strickler's caretakers, Hospice of the Shenandoah and Dr. Lynn Moore for their loving care and support.
