    July 1, 1926 - April 8, 2012

    PAULINE M. SAUFLEY VERONA, VA… Pauline Elizabeth (Meyerhoeffer) Saufley, 85, widow of Strickler Amon Saufley, of 270 Old Laurel Hill Road, died Sunday, April 8, 2012, in Augusta Health, Fishersville. She was born July 1, 1926, in Staunton, a daughter of the late Clyde and Louella (Swortzel) Meyerhoeffer. She was a member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher in the Children‘s Department, was in charge of outreach for her Sunday school class, worked in Vacation Bible School, was active in Circle and WMU, and had been a GA leader. She provided and arranged flowers from her yard for the sanctuary of the church. Recently she was a stalwart member of the VBS refreshment committee. She enjoyed visiting the sick and shut-ins and spent countless hours transporting friends and neighbors to appointments. In addition to her loving husband of 49 years, who preceded her in death on April 8, 1994, she also was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Todd Warren and Carl Lee Warren. Family members include a son, Ronald S. Saufley of Staunton; a daughter, Karen S. Warren of Verona; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Elwood and Betty Meyerhoeffer of Verona and David and Barbara Meyerhoeffer of OK; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Paul Cline of Ft. Defiance; two grandchildren, Jason Warren and Deidre Redifer and her husband, Kevin: and four great grandchildren, Cody Redifer, Dylan Warren, Kelsey Redifer, and Klay Redifer; and a number of loving nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012, in Laurel Hill Baptist Church by the Revs. Wayne Hannah and Dale Meyerhoeffer. Active pallbearers will be Dylan Warren, Cody Redifer, Jason Warren, Kevin Redifer, Steve Riley, Jeff Cleveland, and Wayne Hannah, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of the Church. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home and other times at Pauline‘s home. Memorials may be made to Laurel Hill Baptist Church, 129 Old Laurel Hill Road, Verona, VA 24482.
