PEERY L. PLECKER STAUNTON, VA Peery Lee Plecker, 85, of 1610 N. Augusta Street, passed away Friday, September 14, 2012, at his residence. He was born August 21, 1927 in Bath County, a son of the late Forrest Henry and Clara (Eskleen) Plecker. He was founder and owner of Plecker Construction until his retirement in 1995. He was a previous member of the Covington/Hot Springs Rotary Club, the Ruffed Grouse Society, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, the National Wild Turkey Federation, and was an avid NASCAR fan and a Redskins fan. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Guyotha (Bright) Plecker of Millboro; and a brother, Milton Plecker. Family members include a son, Timmy Plecker and his fiance', Fern Pritt; a daughter , Penny Carpenter and her friend, Benny Matheny; a special friend and companion, Audrey Hite; two grandsons, Chad Carpenter and Cody Plecker; two granddaughters, Kelly Whiddon and her husband, Chris, and Cheyenne Plecker; two great grandchildren, Ava Whiddon and Gunnar Whiddon; two brothers, Thomas and Forrest Plecker; and a sister, Lucille Rhea; two special cousins, James and Wilson Plecker. Active pallbearers will be Timmy Plecker, Cody Plecker, Chad Carpenter, Chris Whiddon, Benny Matheny, and Charles Armstrong. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at Woodland Cemetery in Millboro by the Rev. David George. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, September 17, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.henryfuneralhome.net .
