Peggy Jean (Bartley) Hughes

PEGGY B. HUGHES STAUNTON, VA Peggy Jean (Bartley) Hughes, 83, widow of Thomas Hughes, passed away Monday, August 17, 2015, at King's Daughters' Community Health and Rehab Center. She was born December 27, 1931, in Staunton, a daughter of the late George and Ruby (Maybush) Bartley. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Hughes was employed by Staunton Steam Laundry. She was a member of Jerusalem Chapel Church. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Bartley and a brother, George "Bucky" Bartley. She is survived by two sons, Larry Bartley and wife, Teresa, and Stephen Bartley and wife, Barbara; three sisters, Shirley, Phyllis, and Linda; three brothers, Jerry, Ronald, and Danny; six grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2015, in Thornrose Cemetery by Pastor Todd Yoder. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2015, in the Henry Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Steve, 705 Westover Drive, Staunton.
