Patricia Eileen (Farmer) Showalter, 91, widow of Howard Elwood Showalter, of Staunton, died Sunday, May 16, 2021, at Augusta Health Hospice House.

She was born May 22, 1929, in Alliance, Nebraska, a daughter of the late Leroy and Bernice (Ellis) Farmer.

Prior to retirement, Mrs. Showalter was employed by the City of Staunton Water Department, J. C. Penney; she was a former police officer, and was best known as owner of Pat’s Grill in Waynesboro.

She was a member of Cherryvale United Methodist Church.

Pat was an avid golfer, a member of Spottswood Country Club, and played in the Staunton City Women’s Golf League. She was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lee and Jim Farmer; and a sister, Frances Jean Farmer.

Family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Lee and Gail B. Showalter and Lloyd B. and Angela F. Showalter; a step-son, Glenn R. Showalter; five grandchildren, Jody L. Boyers, Stacey L. Hunt, Leslie A. Harris, Zeven H. Showalter, and Raven A. Showalter; eight great grandchildren; and a special companion, Scooter.

A private graveside service will be held in Thornrose Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Boyers, Brandon Boyers, Daniel Boyers, John Hunt, David Hunt, Jason Harris, and Elijah Harris.
