Peggy Gurley Davis

PEGGY G. DAVIS STAUNTON, VA Peggy Gurley Davis, 82, widow of Carmen Samuel Davis, passed Wednesday, September 10, 2014. She was born in Bristol, Tennessee, daughter of the late Robert and Mona Gurley. Prior to retirement, Peggy was a nurse anesthetist for 40 years. She was a member of Staunton Church of the Brethren. Family includes sons, David Hurst and wife, Susan, of Spartanburg, SC and Tom Davis of Staunton; daughters, Suzanne Booher of Bristol, TN and Elizabeth Hurst of Orlando, FL; brother, Richard Gurley; sisters, Rosemary Thomas and Connie Thomas; grandchildren, Sarah Sayre and husband, Brad, Lauran Weatherly and husband, Jon, Kaelan Lane and husband, Justin, Jeffrey Williams, Victoria Bogan and husband, Jack, and Ariana Davis; and great grandchildren, Micah and McKinzie Sayre, Leland and Penelope Lane, and baby-to-be Weatherly. Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014, at Staunton Church of the Brethren by Pastor Scott Duffey. Honorary pallbearers are the Sunshine Class, Senior Class, and Mary Martha Circle.
