Peggy B. Rohr
Peggy Ann Burford Rohr, age 89, wife of James Robert Rohr Jr. (Jim), of The Legacy of North Augusta in Staunton, went home to the Lord on July 17, 2022. She was born March 30, 1933 in Augusta County, daughter of the late Joseph H. and Helen C. Burford.
Mrs. Rohr was a member of Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church for 75 years. She served on several committees of the church and was a Sunday school and Bible School teacher in the children’s department.
She was a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School Class of ’51.
Mrs. Rohr was retired from King’s Daughters Hospital in Staunton with 13 years of service as a unit secretary.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family.
Besides her husband of 65 years, she is survived by a son,Terry Michael Rohr and his wife Terry Lynn of Staunton, a daughter Vicki Lynn Rohr Kirby and her husband Robert Allan of Waynesboro. Five cherished grandchildren, Rachel Kirby Moser and her husband Ryan of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., Ashley Rohr Lail and her husband Thomas of Staunton, Kristen Kirby Allison and her husband Sean of Waynesboro, Aaron Michael Rohr of Staunton and Tyler Matthew Kirby and his wife Tara of Waynesboro. Seven precious great grandchildren, Kayden Rohr, Zaden and Quinn Nobles,, Macie and Josie Lail, Arlo Allison and Audra Kirby. A special nephew, Keith Painter and his wife Barbara and a great niece, Keri Painter. Cousins, Wayne Coffey and his wife Linda of Riverdale Georgia, Bobby Dull of Staunton and Thomas Burford of Stuarts Draft.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Judes Children Research Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept 142, Memphis, TN, 38148-0142 or the Benevolent Fund for the Legacy of North Augusta, 1410a North Augusta Street, Staunton, VA, 24401.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 12:00 P.M. at Thornrose Cemetery.
A very special and heartfelt Thank You to all the staff from The Legacy at North Augusta and the nurses and staff of Augusta Health Hospice.
