RAY B. CORBIN STAUNTON -- Ray Borden "Hustlin Hillbilly"Corbin, 68, formerly of Greenville, died Monday, May 28, 2012 in Avante of Waynesboro. He was born June 17, 1943 in Greenville, son of the late Gail B. and Bessie (Stinnett) Corbin. He was a member of Greenville Baptist Church. Prior to retiring in 2008 after forty-five years of service, Ray was a driver for Crete Trucking Company. He earned a Million-Mile Safe Driving Award from the National Transportation and Safety Board in Washington, DC for being the fourth safest driver in the nation. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Christi Corbin of Mattydale, NY; a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Tim Bruns of Beavercreek, OH; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert M. Corbin of Waynesboro, and Roger L. and Sheila Corbin of Greenville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Martha and Royce Easter of Galax and Mary Corbin of Waynesboro; one grandson, Jonathon Corbin; and a special first cousin, Jim Smith and his wife, Vicki, of Stuarts Draft with whom Ray made his home. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2012 at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery by the Pastor James "Jamie" McClanahan. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Henry Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
