RAYMOND L. SHULL SWOOPE, VA Raymond Leonard Shull, 80, husband of Patsy (Wampler) Shull, of 1394 Parkersburg Turnpike, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at his residence. He was born on May 12, 1932, in Augusta County, to the late Leonard Rosser and Virginia Mae (Cash) Shull. He was a self-employed local businessman for over 60 years. Mr. Shull was a member of both the Bridgewater College and Wilson Memorial High School sports hall of fame. He was a very community minded business man who supported many youth programs. In addition to his wife, family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Laurie Shull of Churchville and Kent Shull and Kristen Wingate of Berryville, VA; seven grandchildren, Heather Parton, Melissa Carroll, Ryan Hazen, Ross, Jordan, Rylee, and Henley Shull; two great grandchildren, Asher and Carys Hazen; a sister, Mildred Shull Danis of Staunton; and a son-in-law, Larry Hazen. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cylinda Shull Hazen. A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Hebron Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Frank Wyche and the Rev. Dr. Michael Fitzgerald. Private family burial will be in Hebron Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Elwood Cash, John Tankesley, Joe Tankesley, Billy Burkholder, Bill May, Max Miller, Scott Rea, and Jeff Rea. The family will receive friends following the service at the church and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hebron Presbyterian Church, 423 Hebron Road, Staunton, VA 24401. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
