Reba Gertrude (Cason) Buchanan

REBA C. BUCHANAN STAUNTON, VA…  Reba Gertrude (Cason) Buchanan, 87, widow of Earl Macon Buchanan, of Staunton, died Monday, February 5, 2018 at her residence. She was born April 7, 1930 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Edward and Leona (Clemmer) Cason. She was raised by her grandparents, Luther L. and Gertrude L. Clemmer.  Reba worked at Bessie Weller Elementary School and was a member of New Covenant Community Church in Weyers Cave.  She was known for her cooking and quilt making skills and she loved company. Family members include a daughter, Janet Elaine Buchanan; a son, Derek Shawn Buchanan; a half-brother, David and his wife, Mary Lynn Cason; one aunt; and numerous cousins.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Arnold Buchanan.  A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 in New Covenant Community Church by Pastor Jim Logan. Burial will be private in Augusta Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2018 in the Henry Funeral Home.
