RICHARD W. CULLEN STUARTS DRAFT, VA Richard Wayne "Poppie" Cullen, of 86 Gloucester Road, Stuarts Draft, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family January 22, 2015. He was 73. He was employed by DuPont for 32 years. Richard was a past member of Vesuvius Baptist Church and a present member of White Hill Brethren Church. He enjoyed traveling, music, animals, trains, westerns, and his friends and family. Richard had not enjoyed good health for several years, but never lost the faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kathleen and Stuart Cullen and his brother, Bobby Cullen. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Norma Robertson "Mimi" Cullen; a daughter, GiGi Duncan and her husband, Duane Duncan, of Stuarts Draft; a granddaughter, Anna Jarrett and her husband, Patrick Jarrett, of Buena Vista; and two nieces and a nephew, Lisa Miller, Amy Fretwell, and Scott Cullen and spouses and family. He is also survived by special friends and family, Don Cullen, Marianna Fuchs, Mary Anne Downs, Arlene and Eugene Walker, Shay Robertson, and Doug Mayo. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. James Chappell. Burial will be private in Pines Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parry McCluer High School Band Boosters, 100 Bradford Drive, Buena Vista, VA 24416, to provide opportunity for all students to participate in music, as music fed his soul. Checks may be made out to PMHS Band Boosters. Let his legacy be love. True love never dies.
