RICHARD DEAN RANDOLPH  STAUNTON, VA… Richard D. Randolph, 89, of Staunton, joined Bettye, his beloved wife of 63 years, Saturday, December 9, 2017.  He was born June 7, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA., a son of the late Morris V. and Mabel McLear Randolph.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard Keith Randolph, and a grandson, Christopher Drake Randolph. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tish and Sterling Smyth; two sons and daughters-in-law: Tim and Nancy Randolph and Roy and Betty Jo Randolph; grandchildren: Richard and  Russell Smyth; and Randolph and his wife, Brittany Smyth; Tyler and Alex Randolph; Patrick, Isaac and Olivia Randolph; a great grandson Xavier Randolph Smyth; a sister, Mildred Duvall; two brothers and sisters-in-law: George and Debbie Randolph, Dennis and Louise Randolph;  a special friend Lois Roberts as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins.  Prior to retirement, Richard was a senior systems programmer for Sperry-Marine in Charlottesville.  He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, and the New Hope Chorus.  An avid golfer and friend, he also enjoyed bowling on two different teams.  He loved humor, and ended each day with a good joke. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 15, 2017 in New Hope United Methodist Church by Pastor Shin Woo Hong and Rev. Douglas Gunsalus. The family will receive friends in the church one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, c/o Augusta Health Foundation, P.O.
