RICHARD ARTHUR SMITH Richard Arthur Smith, age 57, husband of Susan (McCutchen) Smith, of 534 Sugarloaf Road, Staunton, Virginia, died at 12:25 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Augusta Health. He was born in Bath County, son of Velda (Varner) Smith and the late William Richard Smith. Mr. Smith was a well-known farrier for many years in the Staunton-Augusta community. He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. In addition to his wife and mother, family members include a son, Corbett Alexander Smith and fiancée, Brittany Hoover of Staunton; two daughters, Meda Lindsey Smith and Sydney Elizabeth Smith both of Arbor Hill; two grandchildren, Crue Alexander Smith and Tristan Arthur James Smith. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 1, 2012 in Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery by the Pastors Phil Sommer and Chuck Balsamo. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Henry Funeral Home and at other times at his mother's residence.
