Robert “Bob” Francis Campbell, 79, husband of Wanda (Snyder) Campbell, of 429 Betsy Bell Road, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Friday, June 8, 2018 at his residence.   He was born July 3, 1938 in Staunton, Virginia, a son of the late Ulyssess Francis and Lorine (Fitzgerald) Campbell. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Dupont with 30 ½ years of service as a research assistant.  He was also employed by Henry Funeral Home as a funeral assistant. Mr. Campbell was member of Linden Heights Baptist Church and the founder of the Coachmen Quartet that started in 1968. In addition to his wife of 57 years, family members include three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael “Micky” and Michele Campbell, Anthony “Tony” and Sonya Campbell and Tracy and Lisa Campbell; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold “Pete” and Ada Campbell; three grandchildren, Ciara Campbell and boyfriend, Cody Montgomery, Kristen Campbell and Cayden Campbell; a step grandson, Christopher Cleveland and girlfriend, Payton Hill; and a soon to be great granddaughter, Addison Day. He was preceded in death by a sister, JoAnne Armstrong. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Linden Heights Baptist Church by Revs. Luke Smith and David Anderson.  Burial will follow in Oaklawn Mausoleums & Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Pete Campbell, John Lane, Chris Campbell, Kendall Bennett, Chris Templeton, Alec Christian, Dale Snyder and Dwayne Armstrong. Honorary pallbearers will be Buck Brown, Brock Burns, Charley Miller, Dylan Price, Christopher Cleveland, Danny Back, Charlie Gulley, David Campbell, Alan Price, Jeff Collins, David Hailey, Timmy (Bundy) Mawyer and Johnny Simonetti. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Linden Heights Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the Linden Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 371 Linden Drive, Staunton, VA 24401. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
