ROBERT L. MORRIS STAUNTON, VA… Robert Lee Morris, 87, widower of Barbara Ann (Wimer) Morris, of 202 Red Oak Drive, died Saturday, September 17, 2016, at his residence. He was born September 21, 1928, in Augusta County, a son of the late Edward Franklin and Nannie (Gilbert) Morris. Mr. Morris was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Richmond Times Dispatch. Following retirement, he was employed by Wal-Mart. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and the Staunton YMCA. In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Ralph Morris; and two sisters, Margaret Kerr and Nellie Doucette. Family members include a daughter and son-in-law, Caroline (Morris) and David F. Miller of Staunton; a sister-in-law, Helen Morris of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Robert F. Miller and his wife, Katy of Staunton and Travis C. Miller and his wife, Lindsay of Fort Defiance; six great grandchildren, Brendan, Kellyse, Brodie, Payton, Cannon, and Boone Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.           A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2016, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Evan Smith. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Robert Miller, Travis Miller, Brendon Miller, Frank Butler, Steve Kincheloe, and Ron HatcherThe family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, September 19, 2016, in the funeral home.
