ROBERT K. TAYLOR GREENVILLE, VA Robert Kyle Taylor, 75, of 598 Broadhead School Road, loving husband and father passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, March 25, 2013 at his residence. He was born July 1, 1937, in Omar, West Virginia, a son of the late Kyle and Bernice (Haislip) Taylor. Prior to retirement, Mr. Taylor , along with his father and two brothers were owners of Taylor and Sons Electrical Contractors. He was a member of Mt. Joy Presbyterian Church. He was an avid fisherman, and loved football, gardening, and woodworking. In addition to his wife, Elaine, of 52 years, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Randal Kyle and Eugenia Taylor of Raphine; three daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Dr. David Herring of Fishersville, Pam and Rev. Russell Heinrich of Verona, and Amy and Dwight Rexrode of Staunton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Mary Taylor of New Hope and Jim and Faye Taylor of Staunton; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Charles Murray of Lexington, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Emily Neighbors, Katelyn Neighbors, Amelia Herring, Scott Herring, Nicole Heinrich, and Cierra Keene; and a special pet, Mindy. He was preceded in death by a special uncle, John Lee Taylor and a son-in-law, Jeff Neighbors. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Mt. Joy Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Russell Heinrich and Mr. George Taylor. Burial will follow at Old Providence ARP Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Dr. David Herring, Dwight Rexrode, George Taylor, Jim Taylor, Howard Lickliter, and Michael Swortzel. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and Trevor Fisher. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, in the Henry Funeral Home. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Lynn Moore, Dr. William Faulkenberry, and Dr. David Herring. Memorials may be made to Mt. Joy Presbyterian Church, 4709 Cold Springs Road, Raphine, VA 24472 or to American Cancer Society, 420 Neff Avenue, Suite 210, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
