RODNEY T. SENSABUGH, SR. MIDDLEBROOK, VA Rodney Thomas Sensabaugh, Sr., 85, husband of Dolly (Tyree) Sensabaugh, passed away Sunday October 2, 2011, at Augusta Health, Fishersville. He was born October 17, 1925, in Augusta County, a son of the late Walter Thomas and Glady (Reed) Sensabaugh. Mr. Sensabaugh was a Navy veteran of World War II. Rodney retired in 1991 from the Staunton News Leader after 35 years of service. He was treasurer of Mt. Hermon Cemetery for 52 years and was a lifetime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Rodney's love of family and people allowed him to make many friends. In addition to his wife of 62 years, family members include three sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney Thomas, Jr., and Sheila, Edward Lynn and Marsha, and Barry Dean and Donna; two granddaughters, Marsha Simmers and Amanda Keyser; a grandson, Ryan Sensabaugh; a step-grandson, Myles Griffin; two great granddaughters, Allison Simmers and Claire Keyser; two great grandsons, Lance Simmers and Blake Keyser; a sister and brother-in-law, Dollie Mae and Harry Lee Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in McKinley by the Rev. JoAnn Bunn. Burial will follow in Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Gordon, Weldon Sensabaugh, Kenny Mohler, Josh Simmers, George Harlow, Gary Bunn, Jeff Keyser, and Philip Howell. Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Hitechew, Rick Layser, Arlie Wolfe, Sr., Monty Fix, Dr. H. Lynn Moore, and members of Redeemer Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2011, in the Henry Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Building Fund, in c/o Kenny Craig, 1020 McKinley Road, Middlebrook, VA 24459.
