ROGER M. ALEXANDER VERONA, VA After battling 2 months from a tragic accident by falling down cement basement steps on December 12, 2014, at his home, Roger Milton Alexander entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Augusta Health, Fishersville. He was born March 4, 1946, in Staunton a son of the late Melvin and Goldie (Roadcap) Alexander. He was a Vietnam veteran having served from 1966 - 1968 as an Army Specialist 4th Infantry Division. Mr. Alexander was employed by Westinghouse, Verona plant from 1968 -1974; worked for his father in construction from 1974 - 1983; worked for Virginia Frame Builders and Supply Inc. in Fishersville from 1983 until his retirement in 2008. He was a lifetime member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Mt. Sidney. In addition to his wife of 45 years,Donna S. Alexander, whom he married on October 4, 1969, family members include a daughter, Deana Renea (Alexander) Griffin; a sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn (Alexander) and Walter Cason of Mechanicsburg, PA; aunts and uncles, Jean (Roadcap) Cox of Staunton, Paul and Louise Roadcap of Mt. Sidney, and Edith and Joe Koogler of Staunton; a nephew, Greg Cason and wife, Shelli of Morgantown, WV; and a niece, Pam (Cason) Sheaffer of Mechanicsburg, PA; great nieces and nephews; and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky William Alexander on July 22, 2005 and a nephew, Jeffrey Cason on August 9, 2013. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015, in Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 417 Salem Church Road, Mt. Sidney, by the Rev. Lance K. Braun. Burial will be private in the Church Cemetery. There will be a reception following the memorial service in the Imagine Center at the church. Memorials may be made to Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 38, Mt. Sidney, VA 24467. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
