Roger L. Corbin

GREENVILLE, VA...Roger Lee Corbin, 70, husband of Sheila (Fridley) Corbin, of 94 Bears Den Trail, died Friday, May 27, 2016, at his residence. He was born June 29, 1945, in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Gail Borden and Bessie (Stinnett) Corbin. Prior to retirement, Mr. Corbin was employed as a truck driver. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a loving father, grandfather and husband. He was also a member of Marlbrook Baptist Church in Raphine. In addition to his wife of 35 years, family members include three sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert “Robbie” Corbin of Greenville, Roger Lee, Jr., and Melody Corbin of Stuarts Draft, and Christopher “Chris” Corbin of Christiansburg; three daughters and a son-in-law, Jennifer and Derrick Sage of Greenville, Elizabeth Corbin of Greenville, and Lisa Wickline of Roanoke; a brother, Robert M. Corbin of Waynesboro; twin sisters and a brother-in-law, Martha A. and Royce Easter of Galax and Mary J. Corbin of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray B. Corbin and a nephew, Michael R. Corbin. A service of celebration will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Marlbrook Baptist Church by Pastors Larry Wright and John Tilley. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Steeles Tavern. Active pallbearers will be Cody Corbin, Ryan Corbin, Derrick Sage, Warren Miller, Randy Ramsey and Herman Snyder. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Monday, May 30, 2016 in the Henry Funeral home and at other times at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to Marlbrook Baptist Church, 6926 N. Lee Highway, Raphine, VA 24472, designated to the children’s program.
