RONALD B. ARMSTRONG MIDDLEBROOK, VA… Ronald Barry Armstrong, 72, of Middlebrook, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018, at his daughter’s residence. He was born September 22, 1945, in Staunton, a son of the late Arlie B. and Virginia (Armstrong) Armstrong. Mr. Armstrong was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Western State Hospital. He loved the cowboy life, training and riding horses, and hunting. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Family members include a daughter, Cheryl Armstrong; a son, Andrew Armstrong; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Gene Card; two grandchildren, Jeremiah Good and wife, Kara, and Nathaniel Good and husband, Brendan; three great grandchildren, Madeline, Jonah and Jace Good; many nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Joyce and Nellie Armstrong; a brother-in-law, Ronald Miller; and his granddog, Jazz. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Cleland, Willard, Robert, Nelson and Colin Armstrong and three sisters, Ellen Rhinhart, Jane Miller and Mona Gay Campbell. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018 in Deerfield Community Cemetery by the Rev. Tim Bohlmann. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:30 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the Henry Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Dr. Marsh and staff, Rockbridge Area Hospice, and Hospice of the Shenandoah.
