RONALD N. OBERG MIDDLEBROOK, VA…    Ronald Norman Oberg, 73, husband of Carolyn Vines of 45 Whispering Lane, died Thursday, August 10, 2017, at Augusta Health, Fishersville.    He was born February 21, 1944 in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania, the oldest son of the late Norman and Luella Yingling Oberg.    In addition to his wife of 43 years, family members include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Susie Oberg and David and Teresa Oberg; a sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Jim Rimel; a daughter and son-in-law, Kris and Matt Hubbard; a son and daughter-in-law, Brannon and Katy Oberg; two nieces that he helped raise, Angela Surratt and Charity Campbell; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews; his beloved dog, Lenny; four cats; and “Jake” the parrot.    He came to Virginia to work in the family business, Objective Industries in Fishersville, and became vice-president before retiring.    He was the Augusta Regional SPCA president for three years, loved music, and played the auto harp and banjo. He was a good cook and known for telling jokes. He was also very proud of his Swedish heritage. He enjoyed political discussions and living in the Middlebrook community.    A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 2 until 5 p.m. at Middlebrook Community Center, 54 Cherry Grove Road, Middlebrook.    In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Augusta Regional SPCA, P.O. Box 2014, Staunton, VA 24402 or to the Middlebrook Fire Department, c/o William E. Brubeck, 3808 Middlebrook Village Road, Middlebrook, VA 24459.    Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
