Rosie Frances Rowe

ROSIE P. ROWE STAUNTON, VA Rosie Frances (Painter) Rowe, 94, widow of Roy D. "Sam" Rowe, formerly of Cedar Green Road, died Thursday, August 14, 2014, in the Augusta Nursing and Rehab Center, Fishersville. She was born September 25, 1919, in Augusta County a daughter of the late Arthur D. and Texanna (Campbell) Painter. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Rowe was employed by Woolworths. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Roy Thomas "Tommy" Rowe on December 25, 2005; and siblings, Lillie Nuckoles, Josie Campbell, John Painter, Irene Blackwell, and Ruth Rowe. Family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, William David "Billy" and Betty Rowe and Dr. Samuel F. and Beth Rowe; three granddaughters, Brenda Whitehead and husband, Joe, Beverly Smith and husband, Jesse, and Tonya Rowe; four great grandchildren, Seth and Ethan Whitehead and Ashley and Travis Smith; a special friend, Diana O'Hagan; and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the staff of Augusta Rehab and Nursing and the Hospice of the Piedmont. A funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014, in Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church by the Rev. JoAnn Bunn. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Bob O'Hagan, Jimmy Rowe, Bill Bowman, Johnny Mader, Elwood Wagner, and Chris Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. H. Lynn Moore and the Men of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2014, in the Henry Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Cemetery Fund, 334 Mt.
