RUBY D. GRANT MINT SPRING, VA Ruby Virginia Davis Grant 91 years 10 months and 9 days passed away on June 9, 2015 at 7:35PM at Home in Mint Spring, Va. She was born in Elkton, Virginia on July 23rd, 1923 the daughter of Benjamin Harrison Davis and Fleeta Talmadge Berry Davis. She was a member of Linden Heights Baptist Church and The Ruth Dorcas Sunday School Class in Staunton, VA., Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 105 of Waynesboro, Va., VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 2216 Staunton. Member of AARP. She graduated from Churchville High School, Churchville, Va. Class of 1942 and a member of the Churchville High School Girls Basketball team. She had been employed by DuPont and General Electric of Waynesboro, Western State Hospital of Staunton and Owner and Operator of Ruby Lynn Shop in Downtown Staunton, Va. She was married for 44 years to Edison Massie Grant who preceded her in death on July 20, 1992. She is survived by her son, Gary Wayne Grant and his wife Diane Lynn Forsythe Grant; daughter-in-law, Mary Coffey Grant; three grandchildren, Sherry Grant, Jarod Grant and his wife Michelle, Krystal Dawn Grant Cole and her husband David; seven great grandchildren, Madison Aldrich and her husband Garrett, Michaela Liljeroot, Kolton Dunkelbarger, Luke Edison Grant, Juliette Grant, Khloe Cole, Kiersten Cole; and one great, great grandchild, Harper Aldrich. Preceding her in death is one son, Patrick Edison Grant; eight sisters, Marguerite Davis, Elizabeth Monger, Imogene Kesterson, Thelma Helmick, Anna Karicofe, Edith Kite, and Ruth Wilson; one brother, Benjamin Davis; two grandchildren, Dana R. Grant and Patrick Edison Grant; and one grandchild daughter-in-law, Justine Perry Grant. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Linden Heights Baptist Church, 371 Linden Drive, Staunton, Va. by Rev. Luke Smith and Rev. Dave Anderson. Ceremony to be performed at the church by the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 105 of Waynesboro. Interment will be at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Tim Wilson, Robert Karicofe, Sheldon Bowers, Wilson Pitchford, Kenneth Shoemaker, and Doug Hall. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2015 in the Henry Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Linden Heights Building Fund, 371 Linden Drive, Staunton, Va. 24401.
