Rev. Rudy Wayne Hilderbrand

REV. RUDY W. HILDERBRAND BUENA VISTA, VA Rev. Rudy Wayne Hilderbrand, 64, husband of Beverly (Jordan) Hilderbrand, of 2457 Magnolia Avenue, received his robe of white, Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at his residence. He was born March 12, 1949, in Staunton, a son of the late Frank and Ruby (Armstrong) Hilderbrand. He graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University with a degree in English and Religion. He also attended Vanderbilt University. He retired from the Department of Corrections with 30 years of service. Mr. Hilderbrand was the Minister of New Life Fellowship Church of God of Prophecy in Buena Vista. Rudy was a family man and loved his grandchildren very much. He was an avid sports fan, especially for the UVA Cavaliers. Go Wahoos Go! In addition to his wife, family members include a son, Scott Jordan of Staunton; a daughter and son-in-law, Leeta and Michael Fleming of Buena Vista; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Cormie "Odell" and Debbie Hildebrand of West Virginia and Reed and Carolyn Hilderbrand of North Carolina; three sisters, Doris Revercomb of Verona, Hilda Hodge and Faith Hilderbrand, both of Staunton; and two grandchildren, Konnor Rothrock and Michael Fleming II, both of Buena Vista. He is also survived by a close and dear friend,Jerry Weaver. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Raymond and Paul Hilderbrand. A celebration of life will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013, in the Henry Funeral Home by Bishop Louis McDaniel.
