Ruth Marie Armstrong

RUTH W. ARMSTRONG FISHERSVILLE, VA Ruth Marie (Warren) Armstrong, 85, widow of John William Armstrong, of 33 St. Ives Drive, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013, at her residence. She was born February 7, 1928, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Hershey and Frances (Clarke) Warren. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Armstrong was a business owner and waitress at Jay's Restaurant. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by two sons, Gary and Steven Armstrong; a brother, Pete Warren; and two sisters, Virginia Shifflett and Eva Thompson. Family members include two daughters and sons-in-law, Debby and Ron Marrin and Tina and Dicky Martin;; a sister, Evelyn Spivey of Raleigh, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Danny, Todd, Tonya, and Brooke; and four great grandchildren, Ashley, Todd, Jones, and Colby. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013, in the Henry Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O.
