Ruth Hairfield

STAUNTON, VA…   Ruth Parker Hairfield, 89, widow of Hampton Hairfield, Sr., of Cherry Hill Drive, died Friday, January 29, 2016 in Augusta Health. She was born on July 1, 1926 in Middletown, a daughter of the late Thomas and Lillian (Dean) Sperry. Prior to retirement, she was a secretary for the district manager of Advance Auto Parts. She was a member of Cherryvale United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Benton and her husband, Terry, of Richmond; a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Hairfield of Montana; a stepson, Hampton Hairfield, Jr., and his wife, Betty, of Staunton; a daughter-in-law, Betty Hairfield of Richmond; a sister, Lois Steed and her husband, Bill, of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Bryan Benton and his wife, Sara, of Chesterfield, and Brandon Benton of Richmond; three great grandchildren, Julia, Matthew, and Aiden Benton; and a number of special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Garland Parker, one brother and two sisters. All services are private.
