Ruth Alma Lyle

Ruth Alma (Colvin) Lyle, 90, widow of John Samuel Lyle, of Goshen, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Augusta Health. She was born December 7, 1926 in Fordwick, a daughter of the late James Franklin and Rhoda Ann (Campbell) Colvin. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Stillwater Mills. She was a member of Estaline Valley Church of the Nazarene where she was church treasurer for over 30 years and a Sunday school teacher for 32 years.  She was also a member of Thomas Roads Baptist Church. Family members include two daughters, Karen Lyle and Barbara Lyle, both of Goshen; a son, John S. Lyle Jr. and his wife, Denise, of Swoope; two grandchildren, Chris Lyle and Mark Lyle and wife, Amanda; and two great grandchildren, Logan Lyle and Brooklyn Lyle.In addition to her husband of over 63 years, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Daily and Lester Colvin and three sisters, Sue Burke, Lucy Wade, and Bertie Peters. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2017 at Little River Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060-9979.  Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
