RUTH C. WELLER STAUNTON, VA Ruth Alice (Cason) Weller, 81, wife of Ralph Weller, of 9 Grubert Avenue, died Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Augusta Health. She was born September 3, 1933, in Middlebrook, a daughter of the late Charles and Agnes (Miller) Cason. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Weller was employed by ASR for 34 years as a safety razor inspector and then worked for four years at Driver Brothers Greenhouse. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church where she was involved in the Faithful Five Circle and was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 13 for 27 years. In addition to her husband, family members include two sons, Richard L. Swisher, Jr. and wife, Susan, of Waynesboro and Douglas W. Swisher and Cathy Beverley of Stuarts Draft; a step-son, Ralph C. Weller; two step-daughters, Pamela Barton and Jeanette Todd; a brother, Charles Cason, Jr. and wife, Lorraine, of Arizona; a sister, Mary Joyce and husband, Charlie, of Staunton; seven grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Cason; five sisters, Dorothy Cason, Mamie Arehart, Lou Eva "Pete" Kurtz, Shirley Wolfe, and Mattie Avery; and a granddaughter, Savanaha Swisher. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Second Presbyterian Church by the Revs. Evan Smith and Harry Johns. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the American Legion Post 13 and Ladies Auxiliary. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015 in the Henry Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
