    Reverend Cecil R. Hutching

    November 8, 1933 - February 20, 2021

    Cecil Rorie Hutching, 87, of 690 Phillip Street, died Saturday, February 20, 2021 in the home of his son, Daryll Hutching, in Milton, Florida. He was born November 8, 1933, in Athens, Alabama, a son of the late Jimmy Hutching and Helen Wilson. Reverend Cecil R. Hutching served his country in the United States Army for 21 years as a Combat Engineer, having served in Germany, Japan, Korea, and two tours in Vietnam. He was also a Pastor and founder of Apostolic United Pentecostal Church in Staunton, Virginia for 37 years with his late wife, Neoma Hutching. He served the Virginia District United Pentecostal Church International in several leadership positions over the years. Two areas of ministry that he dearly loved was Sunday School Director and Section Four Presbyter. His fellow District Board members are leading his home-going service and his fellow Section Four pastors and ministers are serving as pallbearers. Reverend Cecil R. Hutching is survived by two sons and daughters-in-laws, Cecil Rolin Hutching and Ruth Hutching of Yellville, Arkansas and Daryll Wayne Hutching and Beverly Hutching of Milton, Florida; a daughter, Sissy Hutching and Travis Weaver of Staunton; three sisters Mary Reid, Ruth Canavan, and Dorothy Coppedge and a host of nieces and nephews; six grandchildren and their spouses, Camey Shaw and husband, Jeremy Shaw, Andrew Hutching and wife, Tracie Hutching, Joseph Hutching, Aaron Hutching, Josiah Adkins and wife, Tabitha Adkins, Sarah Williams and Bradley Williams; and four great grandchildren, Hailey Shaw, Zander Shaw, Brayden Shaw, and Orion Adkins. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Neoma Hutching, son, Timothy Clarence Hutching, and nine siblings. A home-going service will be conducted at 7:00 PM Friday, February 26, 2021, at the Augusta Conference Center, 1640 Lee Highway, Ft. Defiance, Virginia, 24437. The Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM before the service begins. Graveside service and burial will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 27, 2021, in Thornrose Cemetery, 1041 W. Beverley Street, Staunton, Virginia, 24401.
