STAUNTON, VA… Robert Lindsey Andrews, 88, husband of Harriet (Forsythe) Andrews of 820 Donaghe Street, died Monday, December 12, 2016, in Augusta Health, Fishersville. He was born August 5, 1928, in Ruffin, North Carolina, a son of the late Melvin Brainerd and Cara Ethel (Daniels) Andrews. Prior to retirement, Mr. Andrews was employed by Dr. Pepper Bottling Company. He was very community minded and was a member of the Board of Directors of the March of Dimes, was a volunteer for United Way, and a founding member of Valley Roadrunners. In addition to his wife, family members include two sons, James Stephen Andrews of Phoenix, AZ and Phillip Garard Andrews (Ann-Marie) of Fredericksburg; two daughters, Daphne Andrews Stickley (Jeff) of Lexington and Janet Andrews Melton (Mark) of Staunton; Josie Andrews of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Allen Andrews, James David Andrews, and Melvin Bushnell Andrews; and a sister, Marina “Nancy” May Andrews. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2016, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Hollis Dodge.
