Ruby Irene Durham

RUBY D. DURHAM RICHMOND, VA… Ruby (Downey) Durham, 87, widow of Howard Edward Durham, Sr., died Sunday, February 21, 2016, in The Laurels of Bon Air, Richmond. She was born May 30, 1928, in Augusta County a daughter of the late Ernest Dewey and Lottie (Meeks) Downey. She was a long-time member of Hebron Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Pep Club and chairman of the kitchen committee. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by four brothers, Roy, Clyde, Dewey, and Frank Downey; and three sisters, Louise Cox, Bertha Pesta, and Nellie Miller. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, H. Edward Durham, Jr., (Sue); two daughters and a son-in-law, Charlotte Quick and Lisa Ritchie (Jim); a sister, Sally Morris; six grandchildren, Heather Durham, (Tim Thompson), Ryan Durham (Beth), Kim Quick, Jason Quick (Shannon), Nicholas Ritchie, and Owen Ritchie; and six great grandchildren, Zachary Mullenax, Caitlin Mullenax, Kylie Quick, Kiernan Quick, Caroline Durham, and Jack Durham. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 25, 2016, in Augusta Memorial Park.
