Ruby Shultz Gwin, 96, widow of Joseph H. Gwin, left this life for life eternal on Sunday, November 15, 2020.
Mrs. Gwin was born on May 28, 1924, in Greenville, VA, a daughter to the late Marvin L. and Rose B. (Mines) Shultz.
She was a lifetime member of Greenville United Methodist Church. During World War II, she worked at Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center, after that time, she worked at Riverheads Elementary in the cafeteria. Later in life, she helped care for senior citizens. Her greatest joy was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by three sons, Gary Gwin (Cynthia), Marvin Gwin (Martha) and Michael Gwin (Rainier); a daughter, Bonnie Powell (Lee); twelve grandchildren, Heather Schultz (Marcus), Christopher Gwin (Carrie), David Gwin, Sarah Bedgood, Brad Colonna (Caleb), Meagan Globke (Bryan), Kelly Adamson (Chase), Jessie Youngblood (Joe), Jaymian Short, Isaiah Brown, Jacob Brown, Cedron Foster; eight great-grandchildren, Wyatt Bedgood, Conner, Cole and Finn Globke, Cade and Maren Jo Adamson and Mariah and Jordyn Youngblood.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Brooks and brother-in-law, Chester.
A graveside service will be officiated by Pastor Jim Bollinger on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 12:00 PM in the Greenville United Methodist Church Cemetery.
