SUE C. PAINTER STAUNTON, VA Sue (Cox) Painter, 69, wife of Doug Painter, of 717 Cherry Hill Drive, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at her residence. She was born July 7, 1942, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Hallah and Alma (Quick) Cox. Mrs. Painter was a self-employed beautician. She was a life member of Pleasant View Lutheran Church. In addition to her husband, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Sandi Painter of Staunton; a son-in-law, Creed Collins; two brothers and a sister-in-law, William D and Margaret Cox and Fred B. Cox, all of Staunton; a sister, Mary Jane Farmer of Mechanicsville; a sister-in-law, Jean Cox of Staunton; a grandson, Ian Hensley and his wife, Stephanie; three great grandchildren, Cameron, Emily, and Gavyen Hensley; and a special pet dog, Abby. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cherie Collins; two brothers and two sisters. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012, in the Pleasant View Lutheran Church by Rev. Kenneth Price. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 717 Cherry Hill Drive.
