Sylvia May (Bolt) Fitzgerald, 88, widow of Samuel Fitzgerald, of 339 Westminister Drive, died Friday, December 16, 2016, at Shenandoah Nursing and Rehab Center.She was born May 1, 1928, in Tazwell Co., a daughter of the late John Foster and Hopie Victoria (Lester) Bolt.Prior to retirement, Mrs. Fitzgerald was employed by Genesco with 13 years of service.She was a member of Gypsy Hill Chapter AARP. She was in the last graduating class of Beverley Manor High School and was a member of First Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Posie G. Bolt and Roy E. Bolt; and two sisters, Lillian A. Chastain and Rosie L. Davis.Family members include two daughters and sons-in-law, Victoria (Fix) and William Lyle, Jr. of Culpeper and Deborah (Fix) and Ed Dillow of Verona; seven step-children; a sister, Stella (Bolt) Gibson of Staunton; three grandchildren, Kimberly D. Robinson of Gainesville, Jennifer L. Brockman of Madison, and Patrick N. Dillow of Waynesboro; and three foster children, Wilma C. Coffey of Verona, Barbara C. Smith of Mint Spring, and Carl Chastain of Staunton; and four great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday December 21, 2016 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dr. Steve Traylor.Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.Pallbearers will be family members.The family will receive friends Tuesday December 20, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. in the Henry Funeral Home.  Memorials may be made to the Staunton Augusta Rescue Squad, 1601 North Coalter Street, Staunton, VA 24401.
