Sylvia Jean Florence Herman

SYLVIA L. HERMANWAYNESBORO, VA… Sylvia Jean Florence (Landram) Herman, 79, widow of Robert Michael Herman, Sr, of Waynesboro, died Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Envoy of Staunton. She was born May 13, 1939 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Ashby David and Lena Virginia (Johnson) Landram. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. She was a member of the New Hope Ruritans and was a former Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack 86. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing and farming. She was a devoted and caring grandmother that loved to attend all of her grandchildren’s school and sporting activities. Just like her husband, she served as honorary parent and grandparent to many in the community who knew her as “Nay”. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Golden Landram and Vance Daniel Landram. Family members include three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Michael, Jr. and Kimberly Herman, Randall Neal and Holly Herman, and Lester David and Amy Herman; a daughter and son-in-law, Dana Herman and Andrew Breeding; two sisters-in-law, Jean Landram and Mertie Landram; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Doug Davis; six grandchildren, Braden and Ethan Herman, Clara and Chloe Breeding, Katelyn Herman, and Wyatt Herman; special friend and caregiver, Alicia Copeland; and best friends and neighbors, Paul and Shirley Wampler. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in New Hope United Methodist Church by the Rev. Shin Woo Hong. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2018, in the Henry Funeral Home.
