SYLVIA G. MYERS STUARTS DRAFT, VA Sylvia Good Myers, 91, widow of the late Galen S. Myers, of Stuarts Draft, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Augusta Health. She was born in 1922 in McGaheysville to the late Ernest and Vada R. Good Seehorn. Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by four siblings: Clifford Good (Virginia), Vera Bowman (Carl), Orville Good (Ruby), and Edsel Good. She is survived by a brother-in-law, Loyd C. Myers (Bonnie) and a sister-in-law, Rachel Myers. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Church of the Brethren for the last ten years and prior to that was a long-time member of Mill Creek and then Middle River Church of the Brethren. She taught Sunday School, was a member of the choir and the Women's Fellowship. She was a charter member of the New Hope Garden Club and found fulfillment in gardening and homemaking. In later years, she and her husband enjoyed square-dancing and were involved with Habitat for Humanity and Brethren Disaster Response. Family members include a daughter Phyllis M. Dawson of Mechanicsville, and two sons: Robert Myers of Staunton, and Douglas Myers (Rowena) of Fort Defiance. She has five grandchildren: Matthew Dawson, Bradley Dawson, Laura Myers, Nathan Myers (Bethany), and Naomi Karras (Justin); and three great-granddaughters Arianna Karras, Alyssa Karras and Hannah Joy Myers. She also has numerous nieces and nephews. The memorial service will be conducted at Middle River Church of the Brethren in New Hope by Nathan Myers, her grandson, and Pastors Randy Simmons and David Ball on Saturday, April 5th at 2 PM. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Myers' name to any of the following: Habitat for Humanity, Brethren Disaster Response, or Heifer International.
