Samuel "Sam" Heizer, Sr.

Samuel “Sam” Lee Heizer, Sr., 82, husband of Ann Thornton Heizer, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021 at his residence.

He was born on May 16, 1939 in Middlebrook, a son of the late Floyd D. and Estelle (Glover) Heizer.

He was a beef and dairy farmer.

In addition to his wife of sixty years, surviving family members include two sons, Samuel Lee Heizer, Jr. (Dale) and David Heizer (Ronda), both of Middlebrook, a daughter, Carol Wojciechowski (Chris) of Middlebrook; five grandchildren, Derek Heizer (Brittany) of NC, Lindsey Heizer of Middlebrook, Jacob Heizer (Samantha) of Middlebrook, Joshua Heizer (Taylor) of Lynchburg, and Mekayla (Tabor) Burgdorf of Staunton; three great grandchildren, Barrett Heizer of NC, Parker Heizer of Middlebrook, and Johanna Heizer of Lynchburg; and a brother Joe C. Heizer (Shirley) of Middlebrook.

He is preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, James, and Lynn Heizer,

A gravesides service will be conducted at 12 p.m., Tuesday, November 2, 2021 in the Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be family members.

A reception will be held in the church following the service. The family will receive friends at that time and at other times at the residence.
