Sebastian K. Wimmer

Sebastian Karl Wimmer, 83, husband of Jane R. (McNeil) Wimmer, passed away of heart failure on December 8, 2021 at Augusta Health in Fishersville, VA.

Mr. Wimmer was born on March 17, 1938 in Cologne, Germany to the late Hein L. Wimmer and Gertrud (Weingartner) Wimmer. His wife, Jane, survives him and resides at their home in Virginia. He is also survived by a sister Gine (Wimmer) Weber (Ernst), a niece Caroline Weber (Mike Fechner), a great nephew, Carl Fechner, a nephew, Matthias Weber (Katja Hill), a great niece Thea Weber. All are residents of Germany.

Bastian, as he was known to his friends and family, lived a very fulfilling life as a video and film maker. He applied his skill as a master story teller (learned from his father) to the film and video productions he created over the years. He entertained many friends and family with detailed stories of his adventures garnered in the travels that were part of his business opportunities. He was a skilled cook and fed his family well. He maintained a keen interest in politics both in the USA and Europe throughout his life until his death. Reading was one of his most favorite hobbies.

A service will be held in the spring at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Staunton, VA. Memorial donations may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2001 N. Coalter Street, Staunton, VA 24401, any animal rescue group, or a charity of your choice.
