TAMMY K. MYERS STAUNTON, VA Tammy Jayne (Kennedy) Myers, 52, wife of Timothy Wayne Myers, of 2041 Barterbrook Road, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at her residence. She was born April 22, 1962, in Passaic, New Jersey, a daughter of the late Ralph H. and Harriet L. (Bishop) Kennedy. Mrs. Myers was employed by Augusta County Circuit Court and served as an administrative assistant for the Honorable Judge Tom Wood for 10 years. In addition to her husband, family members include two daughters and a son-in-law, Carrie Virginia and Heath Coffey of Mint Spring and Kaitlyn Rebecca Allen of Staunton; two brothers and a sister-in-law, George B. and Shawnee Kennedy of Stuarts Draft and Stephen P. Kennedy of Raphine; a sister, Sharron K. Gray of Ringgold and her fiance`, Stanley; three grandchildren and one on the way, Rowan Jacob Allen, Aiden Cole Allen, and Ryleigh Madeline Coffey; a very special niece, who was like a daughter, Tabatha Myers and her husband, Paul, and their son, Drew; and a very special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Patricia Myers of Stanardsville. Pallbearers include; Shawn Ermel, Roger Kennedy, Mickey Emerson, Mat Thomas, Awad Samra Wayne Williams, and Nate Rexrode. Honorary Pallbearers and special friends include; Meg Shrader, RN- her angel; Gail Hogg, Jean Doyle, Terry Rohr- her special court reporting friends; Pastor Jim Thornton; Ron Denny- whose kind words of encouragement pushed her to fight! Helen Wood; Priscilla Jenkins, Teri King- Her sister Ta-Ta-Teers; Tammie Thompson; Eileen Lunsford, Marti Rankin, "The Courthouse Gang;" Pam Vandevander- her lymphedema therapist and buddy; Debbie and Robert Lucas; Her CVS- Barterbrook Avenue prayer warriors and friends; Chic-fil-a of Waynesboro; nursing and radiation staff at Augusta Cancer Center; Hospice of Shenandoah, Sherri Jones, RN; Moser Radiation Center staff and nurses; Augusta County/Staunton/Waynesboro BAR Association; Augusta County Sheriff's Department; Augusta County, Staunton and Waynesboro City Clerks' Offices and Commonwealth Attorney's Office's. Tammy Myers was quick to love, full of life, and faithful in Christ. On any given day, you could find Tammy enjoying the simple things in life-- pickin' blackberries, huntin' asparagus and crackin' walnuts. She enjoyed long motorcycle rides and time spent fishing off the pier with her hubby. She danced as if no one was watching and had the most contagious smile and laugh. She loved her family and held her friends close. An inspiration to everyone she met, her ability to give was beyond measure. With a generous heart she donated her kidney to save another life. Tammy never met a stranger; she was full of spirit that was comforting to all. Even while fighting her own battle, she always put others first. Tammy was the true definition of strength and courage. If you were lucky enough to have met her, you were loved, spoiled, blessed, and inspired by her grace. Tammy's warm personality made you want to be a better person. She was a blessing to every life she touched, and was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was preceded in death by a brother, Roger H. Kennedy. Her life will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014, at Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Harold W. "Pete" Campbell. Burial will follow at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014, in the funeral home.
