TERRY V. CRUMMETT HARRISONBURG Terry Vaughan Crummett, 63, of Staunton, died on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital following a courageous two-and-a-half year battle with cancer. He was born November 29, 1949, in Vanderpool, son of the late Emmett Hutton and Evelyn (Griffin) Crummett. He was a United States Navy veteran. Terry worked as a homebuilder and also at Food Lion. He was an avid NASCAR and drag racing fan. He also loved four-wheeling, mud bogging and Chevy trucks. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Terry Vaughan, Jr. "TJ" and Laura (Hobbs) Crummett; his former wife Sharon (Bowen) Crummett and her daughter, Heather Morris; a brother, James G. "Gibby" Crummett; a sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Chris Folweiler; grandchildren, Hallie Lawson and Terry Vaughan "Trae" Crummett III; his aunt and uncle, Walter and Mary "Fran" Witt; nephews, Ryan Folweiler and Matt Blackwell; a number of nieces and nephews; special friend Kathy Carroll and her daughters, Emily and Megan; and his beloved dog, Hooch. He was preceded in death by parents and his sister, Carol Harlow. A funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon on Monday, October 7, 2013, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Reverend Wade Munford. Interment will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Graveside rites will be conducted by Augusta Staunton VFW Post 2216. Active pallbearers will be Chris Folweiler, Ryan Folweiler, Matt Blackwell, Sam Sterrett, Justin Crummett, David Crummett, Greg Harris, and Curtis Hall. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday evening in the funeral home or other times at the home of his son, 114 Bellview Street, Staunton.
